Collaborations & Creative Partnerships
At Madame Fortuna, collaboration is at the heart of creation. We believe in the alchemy that happens when creative minds meet, when craftsmanship, curiosity, and storytelling intertwine. Each partnership invites a dialogue between worlds, merging vision and artistry to create something unexpected and unforgettable. From bespoke art to special collections, installations, and pop ups, every collaboration tells its own story of beauty, connection, and transformation.
Brett Day Windham
Few collaborators embody the heart and spirit of Madame Fortuna quite like Brett Day Windham. One of Allison’s oldest and dearest friends, Brett has been a creative force behind the scenes for years, shaping the visual identity and presentation of the brand with her extraordinary eye for design. Though based in Rhode Island, she remains deeply woven into the fabric of Madame Fortuna, creating logos, Instagram announcement posts, and large multi-foot banners that adorn both the shop and shows like Manhattan Vintage. A true merchandising pro, Brett also assists at these shows, lending her impeccable taste and experience from her time designing windows at Bergdorf Goodman to the creation of our show displays and jewelry cases.
Beyond her contributions to the shop, Brett is a full-time artist and mother whose practice is as thoughtful and layered as her design work. A multidisciplinary artist born in Cambridge, England and raised in Providence, Rhode Island, she holds a BFA from Hampshire College and an MFA in Sculpture from RISD, with studies in Florence, Turin, Penland, and Paris. Her work has been exhibited at The Barnes Foundation, Smack Mellon, and the RISD Museum, and has been featured in The New York Times, Hyperallergic, Art New England, Whitewall, and V Magazine.
Brett’s artwork centers on collections and material memory, gathering remnants from nature, studios, and city streets to create sculptures and works on paper that evoke ritual, mysticism, and a sense of place. Each piece reflects her ability to find meaning and magic in the overlooked or forgotten.
We are proud to feature Brett’s paintings and handmade frames in the shop, works that resonate deeply with Madame Fortuna’s world of beauty, storytelling, and craft. Her ongoing friendship and collaboration with Allison are at the heart of our creative community, blending art, history, and intuition into everything we do.

MayerWasner
This summer, Madame Fortuna hosted a special pop-up collaboration with Mayer Wasner, the beloved brand founded by Pamela Mayer, who ran her Narrowsburg boutique for nearly two decades and remains one of the region’s most admired creative forces. A longtime friend of Allison’s, Pamela is not only a clothing designer but also a pattern maker, knitter, and local tastemaker known for her intuitive sense of color and form. She brought her signature touch of craftsmanship and warmth to our space, transforming a sunny corner of the shop into a living reflection of her artistry with handmade, locally dyed garments that radiated her joyful, grounded spirit.
Each Mayer Wasner piece is meticulously crafted by hand in 2 local spaces - Pamela’s atelier and local artist/seamstress/patternmaker Barbara Zweig. Each garment is designed and cut in Pamela’s atelier, many pieces are sewn locally or by Mayer herself. She uses organic materials sourced from Japan, Uk and domestically, many garments are then botanically dyed by Maegan Neubeck or Annie Cadden. Her work honors the principles of slow fashion, deeply personal and rooted in process, infused with artistry, integrity, and soul. Every piece carries her distinct sense of place and her belief that clothing should feel both beautiful and meaningful.
Throughout the summer, Pamela added new designs weekly and offered custom fittings for those seeking something truly one of a kind. Alongside her clothing line, we also featured Pam Slow Jams, her collection of small batch, handmade jams, which added a delicious, homespun touch to the collaboration.
The pop-up became more than just a seasonal event. It was a celebration of friendship, craftsmanship, and community, embodying the slow, intentional beauty that Pamela champions in everything she creates.

Chairloom
We’re delighted to share our ongoing collaboration with Chairloom, the visionary upholstery studio founded by Molly Andrews Burke, whose artistry, warmth, and eye for detail perfectly complement Madame Fortuna’s spirit of reinvention and timeless design. What began as a mutual admiration between Allison and Molly has evolved into both a creative partnership and genuine friendship, grounded in shared values of craftsmanship, sustainability, and soulful beauty.
Chairloom is celebrated for reviving heirloom furniture with extraordinary fabrics from design houses such as Schumacher, House of Hackney, and Pierre Frey, transforming treasured vintage pieces into works of art. Each project reflects a devotion to honoring the past while reimagining it for the present, a philosophy that deeply resonates with Madame Fortuna.
Our collaboration has already yielded some truly special pieces, including a rattan sofa set reimagined in a graffiti-inspired velvet from Timorous Beasties, now available for purchase, as well as our fitting room stool, which Chairloom transformed into a stunning statement piece.
In the shop, you’ll find Chairloom furniture available to take home, along with an inspiring selection of exquisite fabric swatches for custom projects. Together, we’re celebrating not just the art of restoration but the creative friendship that fuels it, proving that with imagination, craftsmanship, and collaboration, the past can be beautifully reborn.
