This incredible 1908 “No Motto” Indian Head gold coin is crafted from .900 finesse (21K) gold and set in a 14K gold bail. The translucent enameling was done in the early 1900s, definitely before 1920 when it became illegal to deliberately mutilate coins or use them as anything other than currency.
